This sweet patio scene focuses on the best of summer (and one of the best features of this home)! It’s not huge and it’s not graced with a gorgeous pool or hot tub, but it’s private, cozy and full of charm. Nearly every home has some feature that has the potential to oooh and ahhh its visitors. Home stagers are experts in finding your home’s sweet spots and making them stand out.
Most of the plants and shrubs in this backyard space are in a neutral palette. Thus, when staging the lovely patio I wanted to bring some color in. I chose a bright and lively yellow/blue scheme with rustic elements. I skipped using a rug because featuring the bluestone patio was a priority. The cozy pillows and floral table runner soften the look of the simple wood table.
Speaking of the table, this is a project that really popped once I put a little love and sweat into it. I pulled the metal base out of my neighbors garbage pile (dumpster diving at its best). It called for a wood top but I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. As luck would have it I found some discarded cedar fence slats that had the right vibe. I cut and sanded them down to fit the table and just like that this great set was born. Re-purposing is one of my favorite things about styling homes. I avoid the “cookie cutter” look of many staged homes and strive to give a home a personal, unique feel with a wide appeal.
